Step 1: Choose the Right Course

Available Courses:
  • Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy – Entry-level program to gain foundational skills
  • Bachelor of Counselling and Psychotherapy – Undergraduate degree to prepare for professional practice
  • Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy – For those switching careers or upskilling
  • Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy – For advanced clinical practice and leadership roles
What to Do:
  • Review course content and structure
  • Consider your career outcomes and registration pathways
  • Select your preferred campus and intake

Step 2: Check Entry Requirements

1 week

Ensure you meet both academic and English requirements for your chosen course.

What to Do:
  • Confirm your previous qualifications meet the academic level
  • Take an approved English language test (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL)
  • Identify any course specific prerequisites or additional requirements (e.g., statement, resume)

Step 3: Prepare Your Documents

2–3 weeks

Gather and prepare certified copies of all required documents.

Required Documents:
  • Academic transcripts and graduation certificates
  • Valid passport (at least 6 months validity)
  • English proficiency test results
  • Statement of Purpose (for postgraduate)
  • Resume or CV (for postgraduate)
  • Reference letters (optional but recommended)

  • Ensure all documents are certified
  • Check document validity periods
  • Prepare additional supporting materials

Step 4: Submit Your Application

1 week

Apply directly through the institution or through a registered education consultant like Boomerang International.

What to Do:
  • Complete the application form
  • Upload or email your documents
  • Pay the application fee (if applicable)

Step 5: Receive Your Offer Letter

2–4 weeks

Once assessed, you'll receive a Conditional or Unconditional Offer.

What to Do:
  • Read through the offer carefully
  • Meet any conditions listed (e.g., certified documents, pending results)
  • Speak with us if anything is unclear

Step 6: Accept Your Offer & Pay Tuition Deposit

1–2 weeks

Secure your place in the course by paying the initial tuition deposit.

What to Do:
  • Arrange finances and understand refund policies
  • Sign and return the offer acceptance form
  • Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

Step 7: Apply for Your Student Visa (Subclass 500)

4–8 weeks

Apply online using your CoE via the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

What to Do:
  • Gather visa documents (ID, financial proof, OSHC, SOP for GS requirement)
  • Complete the online visa application
  • Book a health examination and attend biometrics (if required)
